Blackfield Flower Club was founded in 1959 by Mrs Else Henn-Collins and a celebration of its diamond anniversary was held at the Dibden Golf Club on Tuesday, 11 June.  Pauline Murran, Area Chairman of the Wessex and Jersey Area of NAFAS joined members for lunch on this special day.  Normally, on such a significant occasion, a flower arranging demonstration would follow the lunch but this time music provided the entertainment.  Local singers, father and son, Tony and Liam White had been chosen to sing for this occasion.  Tony sings Neil Diamond songs and Liam provided the backing for his father and then Liam was persuaded to sing a couple of Michael Buble tracks.  Many of the members joined in with some of the well known songs and some members even took to the floor and danced.  After the entertainment, slices of celebration cake were served with glasses of bubbly for the toast.  A most enjoyable afternoon and certainly a day to remember.
